Alexia van der Leegte-van Engelen grew up marvelling at fashion’s behind-the-scenes magic when accompanying her mother working as a fashion PR for Laura Ashley. She spent her childhood years envisioning the edgy beauty that she graces women with today. Her mother is still her biggest inspiration.
Her ideas and drawings are meticulously crafted into unique garments by small workshops and ateliers where fashion is still an expression of the imagination. Each collection tells a fairy-tale, each single piece bears its own soul.

Sage and Ivy stands for responsible production, local sourcing and integrity. We centre building respectful, mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships with our factories and other suppliers, based on the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
We are regularly looking for opportunities to use fabrics from sustainable sources. 80% of our fabrics used are made from natural fibres. Sage and Ivy is fur-free.
We work with small scale factories, workshops and artisans around Europe. The biggest factory we collaborate with has 36 employees, the smallest workshop is lead by a single person. All our contacts are personal. We appreciate craftmanship. We make garments in Roemenia and Ukraine. Accessories in Italy.
