A Royal Surprise!

On 13 april 2013 an historic event will take place in the Netherlands: Queen beatrix, head of state since 1980, will formaly abdicate the throne. The qeeun, who is now 75, has said it is time for the throne to be held by a new generation and her son Prince Willem Alexander will be crowned King of the Netherlands. Queen Beatrix is one of the most popular ruling monarchs in Europe, and the country will now have its first king in more than a century – So 30 april 2013 will be a momentous day for the country.

The Vlisco Group celebrates this major event by creating a design to honour the new King. Since 1846 the company has designed and printed fabrics for west and central Afrika. This tradition and their heritage of 167 years of creating iconic and well- loved designs and their strong links between the Netherlands and Afrika made it logical that they should celebrate the coronation with the development of an unique “Wax Hollandais” Fabric.

They have chosen a select group who will receive an exclusive gift of the design, one of them being Sage and Ivy. Take a look at this beautiful fabric they made for this Special event.

Cool Places in Moscow!!

A week ago our designer Alexia van Engelen visited the inspiring city of Moscow. She wanted to share with us the highlights of her trip!

Uilliams Bistro: In the City Centre of Moscow there is a restaurant with delicious foods, Italian and Russian dishes are there speciality. It’s a relaxing but also Fashionable place.

Simacev Bar: This bar is so inspiring, downstairs you have a very fashionable bar and upstairs there is a shop of the Designer Denis Simachev.

Puskin: This was the absolute highlight of all the places Alexia visited. The restaurant is named after the famous Russian Auteur Pushkin. Before this location was converted to a restaurant it was a Library. An absolute dream!

We support! ‘One day without shoes’

We all have a few pair of shoes locked away in our closet. In other parts of the world this isn’t as normal as we think it is. There are even children that do not even have one pair of shoes. That is why the brand Toms organised an international event where they create awareness for this problem. We couldn’t let this pass without showing Sage and Ivy cares about this problem!
